General Information

When is the Summer Orchid Festival being held?

The Summer Orchid Festival will be held on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 December 2025.

Where is the Orchid Show located?

The show will take place at Ermington Community Centre, 10 River Road, Ermington NSW.

What are the opening hours?

The show will be open from 10 am to 4pm on Saturday and 10am to 3pm on Sunday.

How much are tickets?

General admission: $5

Children under 12: Free

How can I pay for my ticket?

We are able to accept both cash and EFT/Credit Card payments

Can I buy tickets in advance?

No, unfortunately we do not have these facilities

Is the venue accessible for people with mobility issues?

The venue is wheelchair accessible.

About the Show

What can I expect to see at the Summer Orchid Festival?

Visitors will experience a stunning display of orchids from exhibitors across NSW. The show will feature rare specimens, with a focus on Cattleya (Laelia) purpurata and multifloral Paphiopedilums (Slippers).

Will there be orchids for sale?

Yes, a variety of orchids will be for sale from local orchid growers, including large, rare and unusual varieties not commonly found in regular garden centres or nurseries.

Can I pay for my purchases by credit card?

Yes we can accept both cash and EFT/Credit Card for sales plants.

Will there be food and drinks available?

No, we do not have the facilities within the hall, however, there is a supermarket and several restaurants nearby.

Visitor Information

Is photography allowed?

Yes, photography for personal use is permitted. Please be respectful of other visitors when taking photos (No photography of children is permitted).

Can I bring my children?

Yes, children are welcome but please note plants and flowers are delicate so young children should be supervised at all times.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not permitted in the venue with the exception of certified service animals.

Is there parking available?

Yes, plenty of free parking is available at the venue and on local streets.

What public transport options are available?

The venue is accessible by a number of bus services from either Auburn or Parramatta Stations which stop along nearby Victoria Road. For more information and to plan your trip visit: https://transportnsw.info/

Orchid Care

I'm new to orchids. Will there be information for beginners?

Yes! we will have many experienced orchid growers on hand to talk you through orchid care and answer your burning orchid growing questions.

Can I bring a sample of my sick orchid for diagnosis?

Yes, its best to bring a sample leaf or flower in a sealed zip lock bag.

Membership and Community

How can I join an Orchid Society?

Information about membership will be available at the entry table. Representatives will be happy to discuss the benefits of joining.

Are there regular meetings or activities for orchid enthusiasts? Yes, the Orchid Society of NSW and its affiliated societies holds regular monthly meetings at various locations across NSW. New members and visitors are always welcome.
